Does anyone have a good chocolate banana cake recipe (preferably starting with a box mix) that they are willing to share. I want to try this with a peanut butter filling/mousse and chocolate frosting/ganache.

I made a chocolate banana cake once - with peanut butter buttercream - and it was delicious. This was my recipe (a variation on the WASC variation I got from MacsMom gourmet thread):

1 chocolate fudge DH cake mix
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa (I like the Hershey's special dark)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate milk
1 cup coffee
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 Tbls oil
3 mashed ripe bananas
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp banana flavoring

Everyone loved it, and it was really moist. I loved it with the peanut butter - and the ganache certainly can't hurt!

I would start with a banana cake and add chocolate chips. I think that chocolate would overpower the chocolate the other way around. just my 2c
