I have the wilton tilt n turn... and its time to buy a good one.

Which one would you suggest and why??? I dont want to spend a fortune but I want something that will spin easily and possibly tilt but that isnt a requirement.... I was thinking no more than $100 if I can find a good one for that.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Fat Daddios and Ateco.

The plastic Wilton with green one also does the work.

I have the Ateco one. It's got a heavy cast metal base and an aluminum turtable. I bought a plastic Ateco initially but when I got it home it wasn't level. My DH took it back and bought me the metal one and it was love at first use! Super smooth, durable and level. I've put 4" 12x18 sheet cakes and three tier stacked wedding cakes on it and it still spins smoothly and easily. I highly recommend the Ateco. Oh, and mine only cost $65 from a store local to me.

I would go with any metal heavy duty turntable (like ateco) I've always seen them for $65 at most craft stores and with a 50% off coupon it's an even better deal.

Is there a craft store near you that carries a non-Wilton one? I live nearby! Let me know which one- I don't think the ones down here do.

I LOVE this one:

It's really weighty....good spin action...and it has a half sheet top on the opposite side that spins also.

I use the kind of turn table you put under a tv or large plant, I got it at IKEA for 49 DKR, which is approximatelt 10 USD.
It's rather large, about 16 inches across, and flat, but it works great for me.
You can see it under the cake here: http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1602427

I recently purchased the Martha Stewart Cake Turntable at Macys. It looks just like the Ateco one with the cast iron base and metal top. Huge mistake! It doesn't stay level when it spins, so it is all wobbly. icon_cry.gif I can't use it all. Just a word of warning!

It's really heavy (over 15 pounds), spins nice and smooth, I'll put any cake on it. It's really sturdy. The bottom is non skid too.

I also use a big "lazy susan" that I purchased at Big Lots. It was less than $10. and very sturdy, I use it mainly for sheet cakes. I use the Wilton plastic one for small round cakes.
