Does anyone know how much Sam's club usually charges for their cupcakes? I had an offer to make cupcakes for someone, but they said they could get them at Sam's way cheaper. So how much do they cost there? I want to see what my markup is compared to theirs. I know I could never beat their prices, but curiosity is killing me! TIA
I think for 30 or something there around $16...and if I were you I would tell them to go to Sam's and get something that has probably been frozen for two weeks!
Sam's went out of buisness up here in Canada at least a month or two ago... Some of the stores are supposedly being taken over by a hardware store company (Rona I think)
I recall about $14 for 30 (it may vary from town to town), but they are very simple. Usually just a swirl of frosting and a plastic decoration. And as the other posts said, the taste is bad. A co-worker brought some in once, and they were gross. These particular ones were halloween, and half had pitch-black frosting that obviously had a lot of food coloring; it was not really edible.
they opted to close the canadian clubs as part of a restructuring process. they (walmart)also closed their returns plants and went with an outside(outside walmart that is)company to process their returns. i was looking up something and came across it and decided to read a bit more....they've been affected by the economy as much as anyone else.
frozen for 2 weeks? Where I work (grocery, not Sam's) they come in frozen, might stay in the freezer in their box for 2-3 months, then after they are iced are allowed 45 days frozen or 6 days refrigerated. YUMMY!

That reminds me of a time when I attended a function where someone elses cupcakes were the dessert. I was unable to eat more than one bite. I'm really not sure why it tasted the way it did. I discarded it discreetly. For quite some time I was unable to get a horrible greasy feeling off the roof of my mouth.
All I could do was smile politely and try to swallow.

SAMS cupcakes are fine I guess, for people who can't afford to pay my price, but when I get a customer not wanting to pay my price for my made from scratch cupcakes, I lower the price down a little (depending on what they want on them) and I go and purchase cases of SAMS cupcakes and add some simple syrup, filling and icing or fondant. I still give them what they want but cheaper. They have yet to notice the difference, atleast I have had nothing but rave reviews from those who can't afford me and I didn't spend hours baking. But I only do that for people who are like what??? Isn't that a little expensive? I buy 150 cc from SAMS for 25.00, I don't do it often. Only to those who make a comment to me

Reminds me of a story hubby tells. He had a co-workers who was a TERRIBLE cook! At their office pitch-ins, someone would be in charge of take some of her dish and putting it in the trash so she'd think part of it was eaten. It was that bad. The funny part? She was a former Home Ec teacher!

That remindes me of when my sister would throw parties, and would ask if I would like a drink.....screw drivers, rum and coke etc. I love screw drivers but she always made them super strong, (she was a drinker, and I wasn't but an occasional drinker about 1-2 drinks a year) Well she always made the drinks for everyone ( never could make them right) and she would hand it to me and wait for me to take a sip, so I would pretend to sip it, then when she walked away I would walk towards the kitchen sink (pretending I was going to talk to so and so) and pour it out..lol then refill the cup with a diet soda. She would then return and ask if I needed a refill...lol. I always told her no thanks
