OKAY HELP ME AGAIN!!!
How can I make a marshmellow frosting that crusts?
I am making a smores cake with a truffle filling but I want to coat it with marshmallow frosting so when I cover it with white fondant it will look bright.. HELP!!!
Does anyone have an ideas?
Thanks,
Katie
Hi -- I'm a little confused -- why do you think a mm frosting will make the fondant bright vs. any other white frosting?
Im sorry, let me explain. I want to use marshmallow frosting because it is a smores cake. Not only because its white.
Should have been more clear SORRY

okay -- but you don't need the frosting to crust to put on fondant - you want the fondant to stick - if crusted, it won't stick as well.
I actually started to use crusting icing under fondant to get a crisp edge. I just lightly spray a bit of extract and water on it, with a small spray bottle and the fondant sticks perfectly. Its been working great since I learned that trick.
Humm what to do...

I have searched and searched..... NOTHING!!
I even messaged the few people on here that have made "marshmallow" frosting. The best I have come up with is a Martha Stewart recipe with egg whites... I dont know what I am doing but I guess I will have to give it a try as they are for tommorrow
UGGGHHHH!

I've melted a cup of mini marshmallows before and added to my regular buttercream icing. It crusted just fine. It's what I've used on a couple of cakes. My Diego cake was the first one I used it on.
I know this is an old post but @jonahsmom do you have the BC recipe that you use with the melted marshmallows?
