Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to get ideas for my own wedding cake. We are having a black and white theme, and will be having red roses.

I was thinking about having a 3 tier cake with red gumpaste roses seperating the cakes. I found a pic online and posted it below.

I don't know what to do for the actual cake tiers. Maybe the quilted look with black dots on the corners of the diamonds...??? I'm sorta stuck. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
LL

What do you like? Is there a specific pattern on the invitations you could use?

I like scroll work, but I didn't know if that may be too much with the roses. The invitations don't really go with the colors. I picked up the print-your-own invites and they have an eyelet pattern on them.

I want the cake to be very stunning and elegant! icon_biggrin.gif

Lace molds. I think they will give the cake an elegant touch if it is done right. Also, I love the look on white on white with some black touches.

if you like scroll work i don't think it would be too much like if you did them in like a single line going around the tier on either the bottom of the tier or just under the roses? maybe some piped droplet bead in between under every so many....

I think the scrollwork sounds good. By the way, I love black and white together, and the red just makes it stand out even more. Here is a picture of one I personally like. Don't remember where I found it though. HTH.

Suggestion to give you some ideas- if you put 'black white red' in the SEARCH field, it brings up tons'o'pics of black, white and red themed cakes. Lots of variety to inspire you...

Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding !
