Hello every one,

Im newish to the site and I am looking for a home made fondant recipe. Last week I made Jensens fondant, I followed the recipe to the letter, yet it was incredibley sticky and some how I could not make it work. It was a bad time to experiment as I was making a grooms cake for my step daughters wedding. I ended up using Wilton ready to use fondant. I know it performs well as I have used it a bunch of times, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired.

Which are your tried and true recipes for fondant, I am making a wedding cake for next week and want to find something that will work for me.

Thanking yoiu in anticipation

Chris

Welcome to CC! You will find so many great ideas and recipes here - and support to boot! I personally use Michele Foster's fondant (now known as MFF) , but a lot of CCers use MMF - marshmallow fondant! There are also a lot of good ready to use fondants you can get that taste good, unlike Wilton which tastes like chemicals!-yuck!
There are several other recipes and I'm sure you'll get other recommendations - good luck! Make sure and check out the recipes section!

Try this: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Rolled-Buttercream-Fondant/Detail.aspx?src=etaf
i just used it this past weekend for decorations. It does look a little oily but I'm thinking you could add more powered sugar to it. It tastes good too. It was easy to use and I made it a couple of night before I used it.

Welcome to CC !
I've been using candy clay as fondant- 14oz candy melts to 1/3 cup corn syrup... I've also used the cheaper Almond bark and works just as well.... Rolls out great, tastes yummy, easy to color.... I've also used home made marshmallow fondant, which is also yummy, but the candy clay is sooooooooo easy... I use corn starch to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin..

Good luck, but most of all, have fun !
