Hi all, I am wanting to get an edible image printer for my home business and was wondering what type of general printer you think is the best? I dont have 400 to spend on the kopykake one I am just looking for a regular all in one that I can use to scan images and print edibles on, with edible ink cartridges clearly. Soooo, I guess my question is this... what type of printers do you guys have that work well with edible images and where/how much were they? THanks so much for any help!
*Oh and I do know you have to buy a new printer and puchase food color cartridges seperately from a cake supply store, I have one near by that sells that and sheets!

I purchased a epson all in one on ebay for $60 including the USB cable. I also purchased refillable cartridges (which don't require a chip resetter) and I buy the ink refill kit which saves a lot of money. The epsons don't seem to have as much clogging problems as the canons do.

Actually I have a Canon S750 printer which can be used for edible products. But I was looking for other options and the epson sounds good. I just need a model number or something to identify the right printer. Thanks for you respond.

You can go to the same kopykake website.
There is a list of compatible printers for canon and epson.
I have a epson cx6000 for two years now.

I have a cannon that I got from their website for under $100 and love it. (Had a minor problem but tech support was great and shipped me a new part overnight)I get my paper and ink from KK and the chips are easy to remove and put back on but usually I just refill the ink. (You can refill about 5 times before you need new cartridges)

Definitely check out the kopykake site. I just got a Canon ip 3600 on ebay - came today, yippee! - for $40 including shipping! My other canon died - I think I broke it when i took apart the print head. New print heads were $50 + so I was happy to find this one! I also looked at an epson, but $ is tight this month.

The model I have is no longer available so you need to check out kopykake's site for the models they have cartridges for.

I have a Cannon IP4500 - And I just attempted to refill the cartridges. But I guess I need a Chip Resetter? Any idea where I can get one with out ordering on-line? Can I get something like that at Best Buy or office max or something? Or is there a way around that completely?

Not sure where you can get a chip resetter. I got my IP3500 on Thursday. I had to take the chips off the ink cartridges that came with the machine. Something must've happened to the black chip in the process, b/c the printer will not work!!! It keeps saying the black is ink is not installed properly. ugh! So disappointing. And i really needed it for this weekend. icon_sad.gif
