So to date I have only made one cake with cream cheese filling. I made my filling by combining my regular buttercream with 1.5 packages of cream cheese. It tasted great and had wonderful reviews. This particular cake was only out of the refigerated for a couple of hours. Now I have had a request for a wedding cake made of all red velvet with the cream cheese filling. In your opinions do you think that this filling (buttercream mixed with cream cheese - very large sugar content) can sit out for a longer window then a couple hours and still be alright?

If it's in an air conditioned hall it will be fine. If it's an out door event, I'd worry.
