HmmI understand that we can post more than one pic of a certain cookie in one posting. But paintinggrams just posted seven completely different cookies and minutes later, I went back to look at them all and couldnt find more than one. I then found that they were all lumped under on posting. These werent additional photos of this cake, but seven completely different cookies. icon_confused.gif Is this a new policy to put all cookies by one person under one posting even if they are all different? Yes, they were all summer themed, but they were each a completely different design. Also, this wasn't a case of there being one 'group pic' and then you open to see the individual pics. Also, you get the same one write-up for all seven pics. I checked with her and she didnt do it.

This just seems really, really odd. Has this happened to someone else? Is this a new policy where it is not about Additional photos of this cake, but additional photos by this person, even if they are not of the same design?

Just curious if anyone has seen this before and if it is a new policy.

i know that when there have been what is basically the same cake, but a differnt detail (like one pink version, one blue version), one has been deleted. i guess now theres the multiple view its getting moved to being a multiple. maybe pm one of the moerators.

I saw the same pics this am and didnt comment on them, my first thought was that I would have posted them as one. I know everyone will disagree on this subject though.

Very odd Tracy. I looked at all those summer cookies this morning too, and thought, "How cute!" I only bookmarked one, my reasoning being that when I went back to see the pic I bookmarked, I could access her other cookie pics too. They were all different and don't understand either why they would be lumped as "alternate views" of the same cookie.

Too funny, Joanne - I was JUST thinking of you!!! icon_biggrin.gif

My thought it that as much as I would love to have time to open all photos, many times I have to scan quickly and open here and there. If this is the new policy (or even to lump all of this 'summer theme' together) we will miss seeing many great designs, not knowing there are more design options buried in with that some 'singular looking' photo. It just seemed odd.

I remember reading a post by a moderator a while back urging people to take a group photo of cookies and post that, rather than posting each cookie individually. Looks like the moderators may be doing this for us now. I guess if you want each cookie to get individual attention, you'll have to stagger the times/days that you post pictures.

Interesting. I did not know they requested that. I guess it would be nice it there was a way to highlight the thumbnails that have more pics burried in there so we know.

Thanks, Gemini!

They were just trying to streamline the photos, and it was when they were going in and deleting the duplicate photos. This site gets so-o-o many photos posted, I can see why they would prefer people to group things like similar themed cookies into one picture. I wouldn't be happy if they lumped together totally different cookies (like sticking my gnomes in with my lobsters, for instance) but when they're the same theme, I don't have a problem.

This same thing happened to me recently too...I had two different pictures of flip flops (with different colors/designs) that magically got lumped together. And then I had 2 baby rattles (each different main color and design) that got lumped with a baby slipper...I got a pm from a mod telling me about it. I can understand the flip flops, and even the rattles, but I was annoyed that the baby slipper got hidden with the rattles, because the only info that showed was regarding the baby rattles, the title as well, if someone was searching for a baby slipper...they'd never find mine...so I deleted it...ugh!
