Global Sugar Art is out of stock, does anyone know a good place to purchase high ratio shortening? Any one used The Baker's Kitchen?

Thanks!

Yes, speedy delivery good price, 1/2 the price I was paying at my local cake store. I paid around $100-120 for 50lb cube delivered. I was paying $10.99 for 3lbs

I ordered a 50# box of Sweetex from Gordons Food Service or GFS lastnight for 71.99. They dont carry it in stock but they ordered it next day for me. Then I remembered this wholesale place today and I called and asked if they sold to the public and they do. They carry it and it was only 67.00 for 50# sweetex. Im also getting a 50 lb. bag of 10X sugar from them for 27.00. Its a local place called Strahlers Foods in Central ohio.

you can also go to www.thebakerskitchen.com

7.99 for 4lbs
79.99 think for 50lbs.
I searched the net a lot on HR Shortening and this is the cheapest if found it, after considering taxes and shipping. Maybe there is a cheaper site though.

Oh, i get ALPINE, but they sell both SWEETEX and ALPINE. Hope this helps.

I can get it locally, fortunately, at a Sysco Cash n Carry. It was $80 plus tax today, for 50#..

For those of you who use it.. If one cup Crisco is called for, how much Sweetex do you use?

Do you think Sam's warehouse bakery might carry it? I'd love to avoid the shipping cost, and the weather is still warm here.

Hi, I live in Charlotte, NC and there is a Restaurant Depot here that sells 50lbs for $59 plus tax.  I do not really need that much so will freeze it. I have not purchased it yet because I was told they were going to get it in 1 lb containers but now they say they will not soooo, I will have to get the 50 lbs.

Walmart has a brand 'Carlina' that, to me, is better than Crisco because of the diffrend fat content, but I still want the Hi Ratio [Sweetex}

I do not think the Sam's here has it in the bakery section because their icing comes to them already made

If you are looking for an online site check out:

http://stovercompany.com/categories/shortening/cake-shortening.html

They are a Pittsburgh base bakery supply distributor that offers a ton of commercial grade products.  They offer some of the lowest prices around, and are great to work with.

They are offering Alpine Hi Ratio Shortening for $47 dollars.

I am also in the charlotte area. I only use sweetex to make the icing for my cake dummies. I can let you know the next time i need a box or you can just get some from me. I can split one with you. The only place I get it is restaurant depot also.  :)

Hello

I live in San Diego and was curious if anyone knows where I can buy bulk hi-ratio shortening...I currently pay $11.00 for 3 lbs of sweeter.....I use a lot because I am in a class...I thought it would be a lot cheaper to buy it in bulk. I do like the taste a lot better than using Crisco...

I have looked on-line seems to me shipping is a lot....would be great if there was somewhere local to pick it up

Thank you in advance

Lisa
