I apologize if it's been covered before but I've been searching and can''t find what i'm looking for and it's time to go home.
If I were to set up my cuppies with a cake on the uppermost tier...preferably a round cake what is a good height? I mean, I don''t want a "flat"-flat cake. I would like one that's a little higher than "usual". I know I would have to layer but what is a good height? I'm thinking possibly 6", but I''m not sure.
Also would a 3 layers of a 2" cake be better or 2 layers of a 3" cake? (I'm going by sizes off the wilton cake chart).
For example, these two heights look pretty nice.

The one on top of the stacked cakes looks like a standard 4" height to me. Hard to say with the single cake since there is nothing to compere the height ...
