Thank you! I did 4 dozen, and all in all, it was probably 5 hours. Not too bad.

I just found out today that I will be able to take the day off to attend my nephew's HS graduation in 2 weeks, and therefore have been asked to bring a cake now.

All of these are great/adorable/awesome. I need to come up with a plan now, but I hope whatever I come up with comes out as well as these - evidence to be posted after 6/17!

Wow! All the cakes (and cupcakes) look so awesome!

I was PLANNING to make a replica of last year's grad cake:
http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1227669
for my son's 8th grade graduation this year.

But he objected (since they do not wear mortarboards at his school), and instead requested a replica of the pin everyone received and wore on their gown:

(Sorry, that picture turned out kinda dark.)

My cake doesn't compare to the one's that have been posted on Cake Central, but my son loved it. icon_smile.gif I haven't decorated too many cakes since I took the Wilton Courses last summer.

It was for a beach themed graduation party. The only way you can tell it was for a graduation was congratulations and the little grad hat on the figure.

Here's my daughters cake. She is going to middle school. Her school didn't have a formal graduation for the 5th graders so I just made this. I got the idea straight from here. I was going to make a stack of books cake but had an emergency and had to throw this together as quick as possible...like 4 hours before the class party lOl. Thanks to all the members who did chalkboard cakes...your pics helped me big time.

Shelley, I think your cake looks great!

I also got a chuckle from jillangel's cake, imagining all the graduates running around the beach with their mortarboards on. Cute idea!

maimai16, your Spidey cake is awesome! Love how he is shooting out the web to pick up his diploma!

Bakermommie, you did a great job on the chalkboard cake.

And Elise, your cookie looks cool -- I'm thinking I may do the cookie thing next time around, myself.

What great ideas!

My son graduates from high school this year, so I'm working on his cake for this weekend. Thanks for all of the ideas!
