Im making my first wedding cake, and it will be a 3 stacked cake, 12", 9" and 6". I'm wondering if it would be easier to just buy buttercream by the bucket (25 pounder?) or if i should just make a ridiculous amount of buttercream. I don't know how much I would need. I'm only going to need the buttercream for icing the cakes, and just simple piping; not for making a lot of flowers or anything. Any suggestions? What are some good brand buttercream to buy?

Here are the Wilton charts...the icing amounts are in the last column.

Me? I usually eyeball.
