Fl Bakers And Other States That Don't Allow Home Baking

This is somewhat in response to the responders of my 'bending the rules' post...
I've looked into renting commercial kitchen space and thus far have not been able to find anything within a reasonable distance. Also, I'd basically have to work for free to be able to afford to rent the kitchen...
I'm sending off a few letters and ask family and friends to do the same in hopes that the law will change. Anyone have a time frame?
Those of you who bake anyhow, do you just do so for friends and family? Do you say screw it and hope for the best? Do you just not do it at all?
And lastly...does anyone know anything about zoning laws? I have utility room that does not open into living quarters that has plumbing and electrical. Can I clean it out and get an oven and sink, etc, in there and I'm good to go? Or is that also an issue since I live in a residential area?

To answer the first question about whether people who are baking illegally just bake for friends and family or everyone. I think you will find people on all sides of this. I used to bake for everyone illegally before I knew it was illegal. Then I rented a kitchen and baked for everyone that way. Yes, it was hard to make a profit but that's the case in any business. You have to learn to work faster and more efficient. Now I'm back at home due to having a toddler and no commercial kitchen will allow me to bring my kid. So now I only back from friends and family and people I know from church.
I don't know about the laws in FL but here in Texas it has to be detached from your home. Like a detached garage. You can always call the health department or the department of agriculture and find out.
