I have a LOT of chocolate drops/kisses on hand! Is it possible to chop these & use them in place of chocolate chips in cookies? Seems they have the same consistancy as regular cookie chips, though not certain. Has anyone tried this before? If so, they could be chopped in various sizes, which would be great. I often like to mix assorted flavors, (ie. milk, dark, semi-sweet) when making cookies as there is more depth in flavor to the cookies. No, they're not the REAL chocolate, just grocery store kisses (which, to me, look & taste like grocery store chips). Has anyone tried this? Any ideas would be helpful....Thanks!!
P.S. Not sure but think they have the same waxy texture that packaged chips have.

It's funny that you should ask this! Just last weekend I ran short of chocolate chips for my chocolate chip cookies. I had some Hershey kisses, so I chopped them up and dropped them in. It worked great! HTH

When I make choc chip cookies I take big Hershey's bars and either chop them finely with a knife and make them into "flakes" but I have been wanting to put them in the food processor and just pulse a few times to get them chopped faster. I hate chips in cookies, I think that kisses/drops chopped would be fine, it's all chocolate, right? At least I don't think they add other stuff to different forms of chocolate.

I think they'll be fine. Doesn't Pillsbury (I think) make a refrigerated cookie dough with mini Hershey kisses in it? If they can do it, so can you icon_biggrin.gif !
