I airbrushed a cold cake (I'm just not with it) now the color is all beaded up and uneven. Is there any way to fix this? Will it even out after it dries?

I am not an airbrush guru by any means. I doubt it would even out. I would try to get the beaded color to suck up into a paper towel--the corner of a paper towel where it doesn't mess up the surface but just grabs the color bead. Like they show on the tv commercials where the liquid jumps up into the corner of the towel.

But that's what I would try first.

Then I would get a paint brush and see how that goes. Y'know brush it in.

I would try to brush it out like k8 mentioned. Let it dry well, come to room temperature and then airbrush it again.

I airbrsuh cold cake all the time....just did a few hours ago. Was your fondant heavily greased? I pat mine down with a paper towel, dust cornstarch on it first, then rub with another paper towel to get the shortening from kneading off. And light color. The darker you are trying to go, the more beading. Apply in sections if you need, allowing first coat to dry. And, best bet, soak with towel like K8 suggested, if you brush it, it will smear and look gross. Happened when I tried it.

The beading could be caused by putting too much color in one spot before it had time to dry. If you are going for darker colors you want to work in layers.

youcan ever so gently wipe your cake clean with moistened Viva paper towels and let it dry and then try what Jamie said sounds like great advice!
