Need Help Figuring Out How To Make This Cake?

I'm pretty sure it's done using a chocolate wrap that they've cut into pieces and overlaped. On the homepage there is a link to a video on how to make chocolate ribbons, that should give you a good starting point.
I think you are right about the sizes. HTH
It looks like thin chocolate bar pieces to me. I have a book on chocolate that has a similar technique in it, it is called the domino effect. You can PM me for the instructions if you do not find any on here.
Also, the sizes look like you might be right. Either that or a 6, 9, and 12.
Yup, those are rectangles of chocolate slightly overlapped very much like a chocolate wrap except in pieces. Very pretty cake . I don't think it would look as good if you used fondant rectangles, not as elegant or tasty. IMO
Well however it's done it's very nice!!! Can't wait to see your version so I can ask how you did it!!!
I too, think it is a 6, 9 and 12. Once you get the chocolate on there it will look bigger so I don't think that could be an 8 on top. Just my 2 cents.
I did this once with alternating white and dark chocolate on a sheet cake. I just spread the chocolate onto wax paper on my granite counter tops (boy do I miss those!) then cut out even squares attached to the cake with the bc that was already on it. I wish I had a picture.. I think I could get it I will see.
I think I could make this from a chocolate bar mold most likely. I am going to look into that option. Not sure my cutting skills would be so precise!
Thanks for your input!
