Hi all, i've made pillsbury and dunkin hines cakes for class, i made one yesterday, and they taste dry to me, is there anything i can do? Thank you

Be sure not to overbake them. Test the temperature in your oven to make sure it doesn't run hot. I think the directions on the box tell you to bake too long. A toothpick just needs to come out clean.

I bake at 325 (like TamiAz) and when testing for doneness, you want to pull it out of the oven when the toothpick has tiny crumbs on it, if you take it out when the toothpick comes out clean, it is already too done. (make sure the toothpick isn't "wet or gooey".)

You can brush or sprinkle on some simple syrup to add some moisture to the cake. You can flavour it up by adding some liquor or any other flavourings . Simple syrup is equal part water and sugar, put in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Let it cool before use. Good luck!
