Now the cake mixes are in Aisle 9, the dream whip is no where near the marshmellows, and my soup is on the other side of the aisle.

I'm not handling this very well!

Why do they do that? I thing they try to make us crazy. As soon as you know where everything is, they change it. I think they want us to get lost in the store so we buy more.

be happy you can buy those items at your walmart, the one by me doesn't carry any cake mixes except yellow an no dream whip. Is it really that big of a deal that some stuff has been rearranged? lol

As long as they actually STOCK the cake mixes...mine usually does but nothing is more frustrating than needing to buy about 15 yellow cake mixes and only seeing two stocked. *sigh*

I think it's a marketing strategy to make shoppers wander around and buy more. They think we don't see everything if we're too familiar with the set-up. One Wal-Mart moved the entire craft department. I roamed around dazed and confused.

Yes. Yes it is. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I think they should have cleared the floor plan with me first. icon_lol.gif I live right behind walmart (seriously .... jump the fence and I'm in their backdoor) and my shop is just 3 minutes away. I know ALL the greeters and cashiers on a first-name basis because I'm in there 2-4 times a day.

I guess once I get thru the withdrawal symptoms, it'll be ok. Maybe. Eventually. I hope. icon_rolleyes.gificon_biggrin.gif

They have had all their stocking employees working round the clock for two weeks now just to get everything moved and screw me up! It's terrible! Oh the humanity! (Wink...Wink!)

I feel your pain Debi!
Any time I go out of town, I always go to check out that town's Walmart. Seeing what they have that mine doesn't, and what I can buy! Of course, the Walmart 35 minutes away has a much bigger cake supply section than the Walmart 5 minutes away from me!

Not to mention the fact that Walmart is like a black hole. You go in there for 2 things, and an hour and a half later, you see the bright lights outside of the doors(some people call this the sun!), and realize you just spent over $100.

Ain't that the truth! And the cashier has the nerve to say "Did you find everything okay?" Umm, yeah, too well!

You know you go to Walmart too much when other customers start asking you which aisle crap is in. For some reason, this happens to me quite frenquently!!

You know you go to walmart too much when your husband calls you from the store and asks you where to find something and you (literally) tell him "Where are you? Ok turn left, go all the way to the end of the aisle. Look down at the lowest shelf and it should be the next to the last one on the right." The worst part is...you're completely right, he goes right to it and replies, "You come here way too much."

WOW 2-4x a day?? Guess its not "just a store" for you so I take that back, if I were going that often, it would bother me too.

They redid all the Walmarts around here. Now if I want fabric I have to go to the ghetto, and they have a teeny-tiny section of it.

There seem to be two layouts that they use here, a left-hand and a right...I can grocery shop at any of the left-hand ones but it takes me hours of useless wandering to get through the right-handed layout.

Be glad you don't have HEB...every single HEB is different and I know they do it on purpose because they want you to wander through the store for hours, piling things into your cart...not fun because right now I'm up to walking about 20 minutes, then my leg quits and I have to sit.

Anyhow, I feel your pain icon_biggrin.gif It's nice to be able to go to the store on autopilot. When they redid the Walmart I go to most often, I quit going there for about a year because it bugged me that it had been the exact same way as long as I had been married, and then it wasn't anymore.

They just redid our walmart too, they're trying to make them more upscale...a la target. Anyway, ours did away with all the fabric and the grocery section is all compartmentalized. No more just going down on side of the store and up and down paralle aisles. Now theres all these mini sections and its a pain! On the plus side you can actually wheel your kart down the aisle while someone else is standing in it and it does seem cleaner and brighter.

HA!HA! I have to laugh......they changed ours around too and completely took out most of the fabric/crafts etc..I spoke to an employee and she says they are adding more cake decorating stuff (Wilton) to accomodate lower budget weddings so Bride's will come to Walmart to buy all the cake decorating supplies and make their own cakes....Hmmmmm..nice Thought!

Omg Omg even I knew the cake was on aisle 8--wasn't it???
Worlds are colliding, CakeBuddy. It'll be ok

sorta

No but we had to live in a motel right by WalMart once while they put our house back together and so SuperWM became our 'convenience' store--way way cool.

It's gonna be ok Indy Indy--start with some chocolate....

I am a vendor in WM for SherwinWilliamsPaint. They remodel on generally a 5 - 7 year basis. They are removing stuff from the action aisle to give the stores a cleaner more streamline look like Target. No longer can stuff hang off of the shelves/warehouse racks in the paint department, etc. A bunch of my stores (I call on 17 WM's) are going through remodel or just have finished.

I think the new look is terrific and makes my day job more pleasant!!

Our global positioning device has a download available that provides Walmart locations. You don't have to know the address because IT knows them all! So now, no matter where we go, we can go straight to the nearest Wal-Mart--and every other one. It's a wonderful thing. My record is four in one day!

When we lived in Florida 2 years ago, they did the remodels, got rid of all fabric in all their stores, had to go to JoAnn all the way across the bridge & they had a itty bitty teeny tiny cake supply area, like non existant actually. The one here is slowly but surely rearranging everything. The cake decorating aisle does look nicer though.

Oh, I am sorry. My Micheals moved to a new store this year, and they actually carry fewer cake supplies and now thier doll section went from an entire isle to a space about 2' x 4'. Grrr, I went on thier website and posted my opinion of thier new store. Even the new Leann store carries primarily scrapbooking stuff with fabrics, one isle dedicated to cake stuff and no doll supplies or model kits (DH and son do many models). So disapointing!

I try to stay out of walmarts as much as possible. It aggravates me just to go in ours. But ours also, doesn't seem to carry anything that i happen to be looking for at the time. I was in there today, needed some pool stuff and they were the only thing opened, well went in to find what i needed, and yep they didn't have it. So i have to wait until the pool store opens tomorrow to get all the supplies i need to finish opening the pool.

While i was in there i did cruise down the craft section, seems like they are getting less and less material in, and they have cut down the size of the cake supplies, they have enlarged the wedding stuff that sits in the corner with the cake stuff.

I noticed that too, they have one aisle for cake and wedding stuff, the cake section takes up maybe an eighth of the isle for cakes. a couple of round pans, one sheet cake pan, a few tubs of icing and a small rack with basic tips and 4 colors of ready to use wilton icing, red, black, white, and blue. That is about it.

Our Walmart reworked everything about a year ago. I kept wondering why the cake and scrapbook area was so big. It finally occurred to me that they totally took out the sewing section! Which is fine with me because I can just go to JoAnn Fabrics!
