What to use as Glue

I'm frosting a cake with buttercream and cutting out some circle designs with fondant...my question is once I attach the circles on to the cake it should stick...right? or do I need something else? and also the other way around, if I was covering a cake with fondant...can I use buttercream to attach the circle cut outs to the cake

to stick fondant to fondant, i use a paintbrush and water. Some people disolve a small amount of fondant in water to make it sticky, and then apply with a paint brush.

I always use tylose dissolved in water as glue for my gumpaste decorations.

yep same deal. dab of buttercream or water if they don't want to stick on their own.

Thank you so much for the responses. Is silly but I was telling my husband that you guys are like my best friends..when I'm In need of help with a cake..you guys come to my rescue.

My husband laughs every time I tell him..."I got an answer" and he always says "ALREADY".

I use water on my fondant decorations to attach to buttercream

haha thats so funny, thats why I love this site people genuinly want to help.

Fondant on buttercream shouldent be too bad just remember to not make the fondant peices to thick or heavy, the weight could drop it down.
