Where to buy supplies in UAE

I am hoping there are a few UAE based decorators here who can advise me on where i can buy supplies like cake boards, cake boxes, dummies.

I have visited the Wilton stores at Jumeirah and Mercato in Dubai and they do not do boxes & dummies. Just the boards in limited sizes.

Also have you ordered online for tips & pans & things and had them delivered in Dubai?

hi there,
I'm in the KSA and if you think finding supplies there is hard then you dont even wanna know what its like here. However the wilton that just opened up here under the name tavola, (try to look it up, they have a branch there) does have cake boards?
What youre going to have to do is go out into town and look for those little small unknown shops, thats where I found my cake boards and boxes. and some supplies too. A lof ot stuff I do have to order and ship in, and the shipment cost is almost double the order cost. ughh. but www.cakeart.com is what I use and I LOVE it.

Hi there, I hope I'm not too late in answering your question. I live in UAE too. As for the cake boards you'll find them in any packaging company like Falconpac or albayader. I go to their showrooms and buy them by the carton. As for the dummy cakes you can find them in a shop called cake decoration center in dubai. look them up in the yellow pages or the internet and you'll get their number. Hope that helps.

P.S. I buy most of my supplies online cos there isn't much here.

hey sopme UAE people.. im in dubai.. cake dummies i dont really use much but i got them once from my intstructor that taught me the wilton courses in tavola center..
boxes and boards i get from bayader.. falconpack sells them too. what i wasnt able to find is the inserts for cupcakes
noura where do u order ur stuff from?
so any of you girls have websties i'd love to see what ur working mine is

For cupcake inserts, if you want them plain you can find them in falcon and albayader. They have it in in gold, brown, white & black. You can also find the silver ones in Daiso.

As for my supplies, I usually buy them online through amazon cos I get to save on shipping and I use aramex's shop & ship service to deliver it for me. To tell you the truth, most of the wilton stuff are much cheaper if you bought them online. But you must buy several products in order to distribute the shipping cost.

Sometimes I use www.getsuckered.com for my supplies.

I'm still a beginner and I haven't taken any classes yet but I will soon.

Since we're exchanging info, do you know where I can get High-Ratio shortening and different flavors? not the ones sold in supermarkets.

i think u miss understood about the cupcake inserts... im looking for the divider to put in a box not the cupcakes papers.. ohh well its alright its not easily found anyway

shortning i buy typically from geant or lulu or safestway.. never baught anything from a supplier althought im looking into it now.. and i dont usually use any flavoring in my cakes so i have nooooo idea

I went to this shop in Sharjah that sells baking supplies and cake decorating stuff. It's on the corniche. I forgot to ask them about those cupcake liners, but why dont you give them a call and check it out.

Try their website.. http://www.falconpack.com/ and they have a massive showroom in Sharjah, near National Paints roundabout. Plus you dont have to buy the boxes by cartons, they also sell in packs of 5-10. pretty decent, I assume icon_biggrin.gif
