I was reading through the posts and came across someone saying they level their cake by putting a dishcloth over the top of it when it comes out of the oven and pushing on it for a couple minutes until its level? then put it on a rack to cool. Did I read this right ? I cant find the message because as I was reading it the power went out. Could someone please explain this method to me. Also please explain the paper towel method of smoothing icing. Thank you
Nancy
I've never tried the cloth on a hot cake but as far as the paper towel method it works great.I use a viva paper towel(the plain kind) and my fondant smoother and the cake is sooooo smooth.Just ice the cake and let it crust then smooth.
This explains the paper towel method.
