I would like to make fondant covered cookies for my daughters school year end party but I don't know what to you for the "glue" to keep the fondant on the cookie any suggestions?

i use a paint brush and barely wet the cookie with water. Then lightly press the fondant on. You can also use light corn syrup.

You can paint the cookies with corn syrup and then place the fondant on, or you can place the fondant on warm cookies and it will adhere nicely. HTH

I find that using a paintbrush with a little water works fine - do not use to much water, or you will have a mess. (colors can bleed and the fondant can become overly sticky)

I put a really thin coat of buttercream on the cookies as glue.

I usually use a thin layer of piping gel.

I am doing some cookies in a week and half & I was going to use poured fondant on them.
