Hi All,

My father in law is turning 80 and we're having a huge party for him, about 60-80 people.

I'm looking for some ideas for a cake for him. Here's a little background on him.

He was a welder for a car manufacture
He was a boxer when he was younger
He still lifts weights and exercises
He's very religious

Thanks

I think it would be cute based in the info you gave us....

Do a boxing ring w/ your father in law as a young man and one as an old man fighter each other. The older one can have a cross around his neck.
Good luck and post a pic when done!

Since you have quite a few people to feed anyway, why not make make tiers or even several separate - each one depicting a few decades of his life. The first could be some historical events from his childhood. Next can be him as a young man (boxing, etc.). Another could be marriage and the time after his own children were born. Finally his golden years. I think it would be a nice reminder of how he got to where he is now.

when my grandma turned 70 we made a cake with edible images from different times in her life (in my photos). it was a total conversation piece and my grandma had a blast looking at the old photos of herself and her family.
