I am new to cake baking. I have made a couple cakes and just covered with bc. I would like to get into fondant. I can't seem to find a recipe that is not too dense to cover in fondant. Any suggestions? Also, this is bad, should you wait until the cake is completely cooled to take it out of the pan? I made a small cake tonight and it totally fell apart when I took it out. It was still a little warm. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Best Cake Recipe for Fondant Covering?

Hi. There are lots of recipes in the recipe section that can be covered with fondant. I cover pound cakes & red velvet cakes in fondant or mmf.
I leave my cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes before turning them out to cool on a wire rack. I hope this helps.

I usually place the cakes in the pans on a wire rack to cool for ten minutes and then I turn them over onto wire rack.......oops forgot the first thing I do is run a knife around the edge to be sure it comes out..............I also put parchment paper on the bottom of the pans to bake, and then they come right out each and every time without fail.....mine are still hot and steamy when I take them out.........and as far as covering a cake with fondant, I think any cake you want to cover is fine....just be sure you cover it with frosting or icing first. I am no pro, but this is what I do.
