Hi, I am making my sisters graduation cake and am going to cut out 2009 by hand in fondant and I want to make it glittery and black, I am also going to put it on the front side of the cake so I can't let them dry completely before putting them on becuase they will need to bend somewhat, if all of that makes sense. So I bought some wilton black color spray and I have some black wilton edible glitter crushed fine. So I was wondering how I am going to be able to make my numbers black and glittery, and how to attatch it to the side of my cake iced in buttercream.
thanks in advance!!!!

You can lightly brush the numbers with vodka or extract to make the fondant sticky, then sprinkle on the glitter. You want to use alcohol so it dries quickly.

Oh...just re-read your post...are you going to be spraying the numbers with the color spray, or using colored fondant? If the fondant is wet, your glitter should stick fine. (I've never used color spray, so I'm not sure how that works.)

As for attaching to the cake, just use a bit of water or a dab of buttercream on the back and they will stick fine.
