I am making a windmill cake next week and am struggling with the best way to attach the blades to the body of the windmill.
I thought of making the blades out of covered wire and plastic mesh and sticking them into a "donut" shape of gumpaste. This could then be attached to the cake with skewers.
Or to make the entire cake edible I thought I could use pretzel sticks and glue them together with RI. They could then be attached to the cake with RI.
I'm not real excited about either idea but could make one of them work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd really appreciate any feedback.
You could do white chocolate or even royal frosting. Or, if I were doing it, I would probably cut the pieces out of gumpaste, let them dry and then attach with a little white chocolate.
Thanks, that seems so simple really.
I have never worked with white chocolate before but maybe I will give it a shot this weekend.
I worry that RI will be too fragile for the trip but gumpaste would work.
Thanks again.
