Somewhere, maybe on here (or maybe in my head, lol), I think I saw cupcakes baked in chinese takeout boxes. I've been searching through galleries and forums and just plain googling the net, but can't seem to find them now. If it was just in my head, do you think that there would be a problem baking cupcakes inside of chinese takeout box?
I'm asking, because for some reason this year, they moved the teacher appreciation luncheon to the last day of school. Well, the teachers don't want to stay for a luncheon on the last day of school (and can you blame them?). So, instead of a luncheon that would last a couple of hours, the committee is spending their money on photo bags for each of the teachers. In each of the photo slots, the kids are going to write something about the year and the teacher. But, the head of the committee realized that the teachers are missing their favorite part--the desserts!
So... she called me to see what I could come up with... and I love the idea of the takeaway boxes, because if they tip over, it won't matter since the cupcake is baked into the box. I worry about the tipping, because the goodies I come up with are just going to be placed inside the bag.
Thanks for any ideas or advice!
Robin
I found these individual cupcake boxes that might work for your project.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I did find and save that site. It's a little pricey though, since it's a private school, and there are only 36 teachers. Maybe I'd use the the other 67 boxes somewhere sometime though... And I was hoping for cuter!
I'm not a cupcake guru but I've eaten a lot of Chinese takeout. I think they have a bit of plastic-y coating that might not bake well but Idon't know for sure.
My suggestion would be to make fondant ones and just set a slice of cake in there maybe. Or a cupcake.
Just a thought.
how about going to a chinese restaraunt and asking if they will sell you the containers. then what i would do is bake my cupcakes as usual and place them in the take out container. it would make a nice presentation..............laura
Oh--just set the cuppy in a nice little cookie bag--the kind of cellophane ones--and tie it with a ribbon. I get them at my local cake store.
