Hi All
I have just made my first batch of cupcakes, and usd a patty case with a really cute polka dot design. Unfortunately the oil from the cake has leaked through the cases so the design can barely be seen. Do you use a silcon mould and then transfer them into the cute cases after cooking or is there another trick to stop this happening?
Thanks
Clair
I have the same problem...so dark batter goes into dark paper (atco brand?) and really pretty paper for light colored cake. I also try to use a pan of water in the oven (boiling water into a cake pan) which seems to help. Don't know why...someone passed that tip along and it can't hurt. There is a brand of baking liners out of Sweden that is thicker and absorbs less oil...I pick them up at a cake supply but have seen them online. I am sure someone can help you out with a link. HTH.
Check out www.cupcakeswirl.com . They have the greaseproof liners from Sweden (I think that's where). I REALLY like them! They seem thicker than most other liners. I love the dark brown ones! Those are the ones that I usually buy in the sleeve of 500. Plus, their shipping is unbelievably fast! I usually receive my order within 2 days from when I place it.
Lexi,
Thanks for posting that site...it has some great items ! I love those clear cupcake boxes and a great variety of grease proof cupcake liners !
That's them...love the selection and I can actually have the baking cups match the theme!
I found this for someone else here, and she loves the liners, the liners held their colors, and the polka dots were still polka dots after they came out of the oven.

And they have great customer service!
Lexi- thanks for sharing that website! The site and items for sale look great. I love the vintage looking aprons! I might have to get a few (Lord knows I'm messy when I'm baking).
Check out: www.vikingimporting.com. They have really good price if you want to buy the liners in bulk.
I see you are from Aus. Have you looked at http://bakerscups.com/ I have purchased from them and they have a good supply but not sure if they have what you want.

Many thanks for that information.
Shall check them out.
