First thank you to all... I've just recently started coming to CCC. I love all the new ideas and information!!!!

I have a baby shower cake that needs to be done by Sunday morning. How far in advance is it okay to decorate? I know we are going to be pretty busy Saturday. Would having the cake decorated Friday be too early?

What do you all think?

I have always baked 3 nights before and then started decorating 2 nights before. They day before I finish up. My cakes have always been fine. Good Luck

You can do it Fri. just stick it in the fridge. Once you've decorated it, put it in the fridge to set (harden). Once set, drape it lightly with plastic wrap so it won't dry out. Also, if your fridge is like mine and has a fridge smell to it, I put a baking soda box in the ASAP so it'll be fresh by the time you stick the cake in it.
