"The CC Chutzpah loudly proclaims her religious beliefs far and wide, and I can tell you for certain she's not Jewish (at least not practicing anyway, I mean she still could be by birth, I guess)."

I don't think this comment was meant to be inappropriate in any way, it was just an explanation. Plenty of people state their religious beliefs on here, no big deal. I've personally been hoping for the return of CC's Chutzpah, I find her witty and amusing. icon_smile.gif But that's just me. icon_twisted.gif

And on the topic of the idiots at the reception hall, they're a bunch of attention-seeking/drama loving dolts.

I don't know if it was meant to be inappropriate, but to me, the tone implied a pretty unkind 'dig' at Chutzpah, particularly based on other comments above this one. I just don't think it's anyone's place to presume to exlain another person's religious status to anyone else. That's only for Chutzpah to do.

And I'm with you. I find Chutzpah's posts funny and smart, sometimes provocative, and never dull. I don't always agree with her, but that's not a requirement for me to enjoy and benefit from someone's participation in my conversations. Just yesterday I was wondering where she's been, so I hope she hasn't been shooed off the site by mean-spirited comments about her.

As to the OP, what a dopey group she was dealing with. I can't imagine the MOH calling and accusing her of ruining the bride's day. Besides, really? Can not having a cake really ruin the day you marry your honey? Please...

I thought that I read somewhere that she had been banned (boooooo...) for something. Who knows. Anyway, I just took the explanation as an explanation, since I couldn't care less what someone else's religious views are. I can see what you mean, though.

Oh, yikes. I'd die of embarrassment if I got banned from CC. Not to mention that I'd go into major withdrawl. I'd be so sad.

I'll be good, I promise. I love you all. : )

I wouldn't have the patience to explain politely to the MOH,I would have being shouting down the phone back to her or her voicemail.

Ruth0209, it was very well known that Chutzpah loathed and despised what she called the 'church ladies,' and praying, and seemingly everything else Christian.

I'm pretty sure she was banned, although I don't know what thread or what comments got her banned. I just noticed one day while reading an old thread that under her username it said, "Not a registered member" or something to that effect. Having been keenly aware of her presence and her position on the topic of religion while she was mezzaluna and then chutzpah, I think I can definitively say she would never have been "shooed off" by anyone. icon_smile.gificon_biggrin.gif

Thanks Sherri, that was all I meant. My comment wasn't meant to be mean-spirited.

I liked Chutzpah's directness a lot. I've gotten lots of laughs out of her comments, for sure.

It's kind of like when Debi comes on a heated thread, you just sit up and take notice because you know something memorable is going to be said!

Yeah, those people were nutty. We delivered the cakes while a full staff watched and chit chatted. You would think they would have one of their phone numbers!

...I am going to e-mail the MOB to see how they liked the cakes then I'm going to throw in some venting! icon_wink.gif

I hate thinking about them bad mouthing me to the bride before her ceremony!

Pretty sure she came back as "Wanker" for a while....
as for not being anything but a lurker, en-passant, you have 60 posts since the 2nd...
Not stirring the pot, but that's probably another reason why your identity was mistaken icon_smile.gif

I love how people seem make a crisis out of absolutely nothing. You almost get the impression that they were standing around saying, "Hey! Nothing's gone wrong yet...let's harass the cake lady!"

To this day I wonder where people like that are buying their crack from. They should get a better supplier.

Maybe they need some valium to go with the crack, it might calm them down a little.

your cakes are so lovely, i'd freak out too if i didn't know it was there. You're right, she should have looked for the cake, but take it as a compliment that you caused a huge meltdown that your cake might not have been there.

Some people can ramp up pretty quickly. You would have thought if they couldn't get in touch with "cake lady" they would have had enough sense to call the venue. icon_confused.gif

Your cake was there on time...I wouldn't worry about what the MOH said. She is not really a player in the situation...she is just a dipshcit. icon_twisted.gif
You told the mother the situation so I would let it go. The more you stir a pot the more it stinks. Leave them with the impression that your work was done, done properly and on time and their ruffling feathers was all because they were dull witted, not because there really was a problem.

I always carry my cell phone. It is actually my business phone - not the house phone. I have forgot it a time or two myself...poop happens! Sorry they stressed you out but some people are short on brain power. icon_rolleyes.gif
