I'm not sure if this will help: I posted a similar question...

I've added gum-tex to MMF before. I just sprinkle it on the finished MMF and knead it in. You'll feel a change in the texture when you've added enough. I don't think it would be at all pleasant to eat (smell that can of gum-tex) and it dries hard enough that someone could chip a tooth.

I've had good luck with making figures, flowers, bows, etc. out of MMF. As long as there are a couple of days for it to dry it seems to get hard enough to last, but those really determined people who want to eat it are still able to. If I'm making a figure that needs some support, I use lollipops on plastic sticks and build the figure on top of that. I use the MMF recipie that's just marshmallows, powdered sugar and water. I've always been pleased enough with it that I haven't needed to try a more complicated recipe.

I just take a "hunk" of fondant and an equal sized "hunk" of gum paste and knead them together.

Ditto to poohsmomma - that's how I get the 50/50 mixture. It works great for me.

The 50/50 mixture is just equal parts of fondant and gumpaste. You can make your own or buy ready made.

There are several fondant recipes in the Recipe section. Wilton is fine to use since no one will be eating the results.

Wilton has gumpaste mix (add water, but you need to make it the day before) or ready-to-use gumpaste. Nicholas Lodge has a recipe on his website that is excellent, but you will need tylose powder. You can also add tylose powder to fondant.

I was thinking the same thing, Cakepro. Four posts in 20 minutes -- starting at 12:14 am ( if PRcakes has her time set right). I don't expect an answer in the first 5 minutes when I am posting in the middle of the day! icon_biggrin.gif
