How many of you have a blog? How many followers do you have? Do you have to pay for it or is it free? Is it better than you a regular website page. Please educate me as I have no idea about a blogging.

I have a blog with blogspot. It's through google (you can use a gmail account) and fairly easy to use and free. I have found that many cake designers have a blog.
This is what i put on my business cards so people know how to contact me and where they can follow my cakes week to week. I just started it so I'm still learning myself.

I do! It has desserts, cookies, and a few other things that I've done. I have kept my cakes seperate from it, for the most part, and have those on a simple photo gallery on another site.

I have a blog, it´s free and easy. I started last month because my friends wanted to see my work. I don´t make so many cakes, so I have it for other hobbies too.

A blog is fun to highlight one cake or project at a time. And you usually have to add in some interesting text with it too, like instructions or a story. If you need space for a lot of content that is consistently and easily available to the user than a website is better. A website isn't quiet as easy to change and update several times a week like a blog is. A blog is also fun because of the instant feedback you can get from posted comments.
I have a website because I have so many links and content that I needed the website format. www.distinctivecakes.com
I hope this helps.

I have a blog, but it's nothing to do with cakes. I mention them, but that's it! Come visit me at www.yukonmom.blogspot.com. I don't pay anything, and lately I've totally neglected my blog. I need to get back into it!

I did it! I started my own blog! It's meant to be a companion to my website. It's been a lot of fun getting it started and creating it. Very soon I'm going to do a really cool giveaway so keep checking in to cake2cake!

Me! Me! Me! I just started it yesterday! Too many people were pressuring me to "you gotta write all of this stuff down!" so it's a place to collect my thoughts and wedding ideas/tips/suggestions.

I don't mind having my blog linked to, but I do mind having content copied from it. Linking is great, though!

Well I'm just going to shamelessly promote my student Jane's blog: http://www.janessweets.blogspot.com/ She took several classes from me a couple years ago and some private lessons on top of that and the bug bit her -- she's now going to a culinary program at a local school and has started her own blog. I'm soooo proud of her!! icon_biggrin.gif
