I've looked at the tutorial titled How To Create Faux Fondant, but the pictures showing the decorator using the "tool" that's been cut from an empty two litre soda pop bottle are so tiny I can't determine at which angle it's being held. Can anyone help ? Thank You !

Cheryl,

I don't get from the tutorial why that tool would be better than any other curved straight edge i.e. the edge of a pan. In fact, why couldn't you just smooth and round with your hand and a paper towel? Thanks for your help. I'm wanting to try the technique too but was unclear about that step too. It seems to me that the bevel of the cake itself is what is key.

Thanks again.
