I saw a pick of cupcake size cakes that were in real clay pots. Is it safe to put them in the oven? If so, what is the max temp and for how long? Do I need to pre grese or line with anything?

I have baked cakes in the terracotta pots and have not had any problems. I wash a new pot with hot, soapy water and bake them in the oven to dry. I line the pots as I would a cake tin and bake at the normal temperature you would bake the cake at.
