Yeah I logged in today (wondering why it's not automatic, I must've done something on the laptop) anyways, I thought WOW! LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!

. I thought it was the slideshow but that's popular photos. They should've put newest photos there or in another one.
I must be the only one who totally hates the new layout. I do not like the slideshow of the cakes at all. Kinda bummed. Oh well, hopefully I'll get used to the changes, but I really liked it the way it was.

Nope not the only one. I dont' like the slide show. I guess it would be better if it was under the topics. I like those being right there in my face when I go to the home page.
I think if they put the slide shows smaller they could put 3 side by side (below the topics please). Then they could have Newest photos, popular today photos and all time popular (and change that one when they do the special ones like popular Easter, popular Mother's Day etc)....JMO
I do like some of the new options like the search box. That is something I had just been wondering why they didn't have it and now there it is!

Had a pipe dream to one day see one of my cakes there and now it's gone however I appreciate the effort to continuously improve the site.

I'd say that they are not as the warning is still on the top of every page that I visit.
I do appreciate how H&J are trying to make this a great place to cake, but I agree w/patticakesnc's comment.
I'm not in love - I really don't like the slide show, unless they had 3 slide shows of all the cakes - I really enjoyed seeing the newest cakes added - now its an extra stop that I have to make to go to the newest cakes added section.
I also liked the forums on the top of the page.
Just my 2cents - for whatever its worth.

I like the layout so far but I really miss all the pictures on the home page! I really liked seeing the all time favorite photos, the popular photots added today, and the newest added photots.. (Or however they were named.) Most of my saved favorite photos came from seeing them viewed on the home page. I would think: Wow what a great cake! i better save it because I'll never remember to look for it later! But like everyone else I really appreciate this site and the constant effort to improve it! My instructor last year turned me onto this site and I love it!!!! I've been trying to convert my SIL to becoming an addict and for some crazy reason she hasn't yet

The pictures on the home page is what I don't like about the new layout.
I'm new here and already an addict. I leave the page up all day. My favorite place was the newest, all time faves etc. I sure hope they add it back. I also noticed on some, the date the pic was entered was no longer there? I liked this because t gave me a time line of techniques and when certain things were in style.
Nope I dont like it either, but am hoping they're not done. I rreally miss the hot topics from the forum being at the top. I hate having to go into the forum page and find a category and see which topic has the newest comment. I also dont like the slideshow only showing the most popular cakes from the past 24hrs.

Latest Forum Topics OVER the slideshow.
THEN the three smaller side by side slideshows: Newest (first of course ), then popular newest and all-time faves (no particular order lol).
then everything else. hehehe
Although, I'm not sure if the slideshow pics are able to update automatically on its own when members post new pics. I think someone has to manually do that and that WOULD be alot of work. hmmmm...don't know.
I don't care to much for the site layout anymore .. still love the site itself, but the layout is kinda crazy .. crazy size fonts all over the place, some are way to huge and some are way to small ... and I'm not particularly fond of the new photo block smack dab in the middle of the screen ...
I think we just all hate change. I'm sure they are still working out all the kinks and hopefully they will take your comments into consideration. You'll get use to it and when they change it again in a year we will all complain about it all over again
I am not complaining about it, I just think that they would like to know what people think of the changes. Maybe a poll or something like that would be good.
I think the new layout is going to be great, once we get used to it. I really like all the info that accompanies the photos: it's nice to see who the picture belongs to. As far as the missing "latest pictures" section, I find you see a far better spread by going to the GALLERIES, and then checking on "Last Uploads". At least that way, you see most of the pictures that were loaded that day, and not just the ones that were posted in the last half hour, or so.

Really? I find the new font and color much harder to read and my eyes start hurting after about 30 minutes 
I really miss the "Holiday photos", "All Time Fav's" and "Last Uploaded" , you were able to see a lot more pictures on the homepage when it was set up that way, now every time I go to the home page I see the same 5 or 6 cakes.
Does anyone know if I can change the font color setting on my laptop so that the posts are easier to read?

When the 'Display Properties' window pops up, click 'Appearance'
You should see a pulldown there for font size choices.
...or do like I did and invest a couple dollars in a pair of over-the-counter magnifiers!

OK I right clicked but instead of "Display Properties" window popping up something called "element properties" popped up and it won't let me click on anything (the only thing it says in the box is "miscellaneous properties" and "text English")
It's not so much the size of the font, I was able to enlarge that, it's the light gray color. This is the only site that I'm having this problem with so I know it's not just my laptop.
