... you find awesome, awesome websites to order cool cookie cutters, or cake items only to find out when you hit the check out that they deliver to the USA only?
Do any other Canadians find this happening as often to you as it does to me? Or am I just looking in the wrong direction for product? Is there any awesome places that ship to Canada as well as the US?
I find it frustrating more often than not! 
I LOVE all of the sites that are constantly suggested here on CC, and get soo excited about placing an order, but then nope - no international shipping!
I hate that! I live in BC so I get stuff shipped to WA and then go across and pick it up. Are you near the US border? I have my stuff shipped to a shipping depot and I just pay them $4 to have it shipped there. Also, the shipping is usually way less to have it shipped to the US when it's a US company, plus you don't have to pay duty or extra taxes.
I just use it as an excuse to go shopping in the states for the day, lol!
I live in Saskatchewan and I constantly find myself wondering the same thing! I actually just spent 1/2 hour today setting up an order for cake dummies, went to checkout, ohhhh, NO CANADIANS ALLOWED!
If you find a magic Canada supply site that is as good as the US ones you let me know!!! My Mom goes to the states to shop once a year.. Maybe she can be my errand lady or even take me with her. Muah ha ha! 
i love looking for cookie cutters and find some amazing ones, specialized or exactly what i'm looking for only to find either the same as op (i'm in ontario) or some astronomical surcharge to delivery here!!! very frustrating and i really want to know where other canadians do their shopping (online ordering). thanks for the question and hopefully we get some answers 
There are many canadain online stores...perhaps you just have not come across them as yet. I agree some times you really have to search but you will find it... Is there anything specific you all are lookin for?
there are these sites that are based in BC
www. for the love of cake .net (no spaces) but their stuff is limited.
There is also www. scoop -n- save .com (no spaces, leave the dashes in)
you can't order online yet but they are getting an online catalogue together. They have practically everything you could ever want and will ship within Canada.
If you know what you are looking for, you can email them and order that way or ask questions, etc. They are very fast at emailing back.

I feel your pain. I just ordered a silicone mold and had to pay $38 dollars for shipping for something that cost $11. I didn't have time to shop around as I needed the mold for upcoming wedding cupcakes I am making. I live in Vancouver as well and find it very frustrating when I it cost so much for shipping or they won't ship to Canada.

Have you been to sccop n save? they are in Langley and they have so much stuff, including tons of silicone molds. They are right on Fraser Highway near the Casino.
I get very frustrated with shopping too. I've used Golda's but a lot of things are expensive compared to the U.S. Wilton doesn't even ship to Canada. I found that Canada just never seems to have much of anything I'm looking for online....I usually spend hours and hours looking for something or someone who will ship to Canada......and then to find out how much shipping will cost makes me cry!!

Yes I have been to Scoop n Save...I love it there but I don't get out there very often...I wish there were more stores like that here...
McCalls Baker's Warehouse is GREAT!!!!! They're somewhere in Toronto. Lots of stuff. Fast, inexpensive shipping. And if you have a business number, you can get all the stuff for wholesale prices! 
We love our neighbors to the north!!!

However, Layers, I tried the cookiecuttershop (which actually prompted my post!) because I love all the cutters and such but it said that they do not ship to Canada... but are they possibly taking special requests?

Depending on where in London you live, you can pick things up from their H/O which is half way between Ilford and Romford.
I'm lucky that it's a 5 min drive for me... but I agree (if it's the company I'm thinking of) that their p&p are extortionate!
Country Kitchen in Fort Wayne, Indiana ships outside the US. There is a minimum shipping charge of $15 and you have to contact them for actual charges. But they do sell and ship.
Hmmm.... I emailed this company, because I wanted their set of 4 cookie cutters with texture mats. The 4 cookie cutters and mats were on offer for about $30 or $40
I SWEAR to you this is true... they wanted something like $120 or $160 dollars for shipping to the UK (can't remember exact amount now and I don't have the email any more). I got some long response about how they only use a certain company... blah, blah, blah.
Totally and utterly RIDICULOUS price for 4 cookie cutters!
i don't know if they ship to canada, but i live WAAAY overseas and it it is something important i use aramex. we paid for a address (the aramex office) and then they ship packages to us once they get it. it's really nice, except when the package is heavy......it can get expensive

I believe any business number will do, if you are talking about McCall's, but if it doesn't work, they also allow you to buy a membership @ $25/year, and believe me, it is soooo worth it!
I find that the companies that do ship to Canada only use a courier company and that requires us to pay brokerage fees, other fees + actual duty and when you add the difference to the dollar it adds around $45 Canadian to a $25 order and that doesn't include the actual shipping cost.
I was going to order some grease proof cupcake liners until I worked out the actual price.
