HELP! How to bake in 4qt glass bowl???

I am making a giant earth for a gradutaion party on Saturday. I figured I would give the glass bowl a try, but after looking at it more I am realizing it won't bake all the way through without some type of core. I need help ASAP!!!! Should I scrap this idea and just go with a layer cake and carve the globe shape?

Do you have a wonder mold pan? If so, you could use the heating core/rod from it and just place it into the middle of your batter. I have done this, but it was a pretty thick batter. I don't know if it would work for a thinner one.

Maybe drop a flower nail or two in the bottom for a makeshift heating element....
