It's impressive from a purely technical standpoint - sculpting is impressive for sure! But it's disturbing on so many other levels.

That's been circulating for some time. There's also an Elvis one very much in that same vein. Yes, different, but amazing technically!

hhmmmm. very creative and well done on part of the cake artist BUT.... I don't know if I would want to chop into myself! The look on the brides face tells me she wasn't so sure either. I wonder who ordered the cake?

I would take a sculpure for my front lawn though... Just kidding. icon_eek.gificon_lol.gif

Yes i thought it was distrubing too but but pretty cook non-the- less. I wasn't sure if the decorator was on here and didn't want to hurt their feelings!! LOL

I guess thats out the door. I wouldn't want it either for me personally.

Let me rephrase, "Butt ugly design", because that should in no way implicate the person who made the cake made something that sucked. She made something that the diva requested. And it is ugly. But only ugly because Diva wanted it that way. icon_biggrin.gif

Saw this cake on the "Bridezilla" TV show. She's the one that ordered that thing and she was very happy with it! Yuck! And, yes, she really was a Bridezilla i.e., "this wedding is all about me", "I have the final say no matter what groom wants, it's MY wedding!", etc.

From a cake standpoint, I think it's a fantastic job. I wouldn't be able to creat this. The detail in the dress and face is great.
From a wedding point of view.......YUCK! who in the heck would want a wedding cake of themselves???
It lacks any kind of elegance and sophistication that a wedding should portray. It's stunning alright. Stuns everyone who looks at it including the bride.

This cake gives me the impression that the bride has to be an egotistical, self absorbed, and I imagine, total bridezilla. If so, I think cutting into the cake would be fun!

She actually wanted a cake of herself?? No way. Why does she look so unamused in the photo? was it not right? I can only guess at what the poor designer was thinking when they had to make that cake. I hope they were paid ALOT.

Actually, only the bottom part is cake. The top part (face, body) is made out of clay (I think).

There was a thread on here a while back about this cake; it listed the person who made the top part and the person who did the cake.

I can't remember anything, so hopefully, someone will come on this thread and give us the info.

Does anyone know who did this cake? I think it is very disturbing too, that poor groom is in for a long and bumpy road w/ her!icon_rolleyes.gif

OMG!! ROFL!! Cant breathe....someone has way too much money and time to (for) herself. You are right about the talent it took to put it all together, not their fault. Ok I feel better now.

Yes, I remember this also and the top part was done by an artist from clay...only the bottom was done by a cake decorator.

I don't have the info on the thread telling about it either.

If I'm remembering right, the bridezilla was unhappy about that red wavy trim that came up the side, because her real dress didn't have it. The reason the red trim was added to the cake was because it was hiding some of the supports. Why they didn't just make it white to match, I have no idea.

I saw her being interviewed about this cake for some show..She said that she'd always wanted a doll that looked like herself, so she decided to get a cake that looked like herself instead. The groom seemed to be totally on board with it, if I remember correctly. They were both really enthusiastic about this being a cake that nobody would forget...No kidding! icon_razz.gif Hey, we're still talking about it here, and people email me this picture about once a month, so they're right!

I cant see the pictures at first either, they just appear as small boxes with an "x" in them, but if you double click on the "x" it should open the picture up in another window, at least it does for me

I can't see the picture myself either. I think cakecentral is just having a glitch or something.

I really wish I would have seen this on Bridezilla.

I always wondered where that saying came from "if she was made of cake she'd eat herself" haha

It's fantastic modelling but wouldn't dream of having a cake like that, especially when the day is supposed to be about both of you..she must be very 'me me me me' !!
