I am doing a gift box wedding cake in June, and I am wondering how you do the lid. I have some theories, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks icon_smile.gif

are you wanting the lid on the box or raised on an angle to create a wonky cake?

oh this is really easy once you know how! once your cake is covered roll out another piece of fondant about an inch wider each side than the top of the cake so if the cake is 10" wide make your fondant 12" square, moisten the top of your cake with a bit of alcohol or water pop fondant on top and smooth over top and sides, get a ruler and a sharp knife and cut edges of fondant into the sides of the lid and done! hope that makes sense
