Thinking of doing my first purse cake for my MIL birthday. I have two left over 10" rounds in the freezer already, so wanted to try and use them. Thinking I may just do the shape with the rounds halved and on their side. Here is my question - How do you get them to stand up and can you fill them like that? or will they slide down?

It's probably too late to give you an answer, but yes, you can make a purse cake with the rounds halved and standing on their cut sides. I did it with a 9" round made into a make-up bag. To help insure that the cakes leaned against one another for support, I cut them at a very small angle and placed them side-by-side with the angled cut causing them to lean into each other, rather than away from each other. Gravity can be our friend. icon_smile.gif
