icon_sad.gif I am very sad at the moment. Although very passionate about the cake decorating business, I am a novice. Yesterday, I sold my first cake. A cinderella cake. The client asked that it be big enough to feed 40 people. I purchased the Cinderella pan from Wilton, and planned on placing it on top of a sheet cake. Well.... I cannot seem to get the mouth, eyes, and nose right for the Cinderella... this just ruined the whole cake. I am considering calling the client to cancel the order. Any ideas on how to make a pretty mouth, eyes and nose for Cinderella? Is there an easier alternative to a Cinderella cake?

Please help. Thank you.

I feel your pain. I had this same thing happen a few weeks ago with a Cinderella cupcake cake. The whole cake looked great with the exception of her face. I must have tried to redo it 10x. I decided next time, I'm using an edible image for her face. Luckily this cake was for a neighbor so it wasn't a big deal but I never was happy with it. Somethings you might try...

Trace the face out onto wafer paper or a frosting sheet using edible markers and use it as a template.

Laminate a pic of her face or maybe even the child's face and place that on the cake where the face is (decorate around and a little over it).

Make a BCT of her face and apply that to the cake http://www.cakecentral.com/article12-How-To-Create-a-Frozen-Buttercream-Transfer.html

Mold her face in chocolate.

if you are really short on time, just go online and look for a Cinderella picture, print it out, size it (i'm assuming you have access to a copy machine, sorry) to fit the space you need and cut it out. Put it on the cake right before it's to be picked up and just let them know the face is not edible. Or copy the face off the pan instructions, even easier!!!!!
