I want to combine dust with liquid to paint a 13X9 and 11X7 stacked book case. How much of each book color will I need? It looks like most of the bottles come in 2 gram packages. Will one bottle be enough of each color to completely paint the cake (minus the white pages)?

i dont know, id order extra to be on the safe side, although i think one bottle would do it, if you are just painting the covers of the books?
just a tip, but dye your fondant to the right sort of colour first, it gives a better result than just painting it on white fondant.

I'm not sure but I've covered a lot of cakes with the pearl/silver luster dusts and I still have a lot lot lot left. I think it depends on the color and the shade you are going for.

Good luck =]

THank you! When you painted, did you use dry dust, or did you combine with liquid?

I completely covered an 8" square cake that was about 5" tall with less than one 2-gram jar of luster dust, and I heavily covered for intense color. I mixed with everclear and painted the liquid all over.

I actually combined it with vodka.
