Used your tips...THANK YOU SO MUCH! I loved the way my cake turned out. Much simpler than I expected. I had my bumps along the way, but they loved it...so so did I!

Cserwa, you rock for doing this! icon_smile.gif I'm a hobby baker and everything is a challenge for me but, I've been contemplating the idea of making a books cake, and didn't know where to start until I saw your thread.

Also, quick question...the notes are pretty clear but the only part where I got lost is the section of the 3 different size pages.... icon_confused.gif the answer is probably very simple, but I just can't picture in my mind why the 3 different size pages (?)... icon_redface.gif

By three different sized pages, they mean the top, bottom, and long side of the book. The part of the book that the pages are exposed on the sides. You'll make 2 shorter pieces for the top and bottom, and one long for the side. I wasn't too pleased with my corners, but hopefully you'll find a better way!

Ahhhh thumbs_up.gif thank you Sweetlybaked I knew it had a simple explanation! I thought we were talking about the white pages between the book that had to be 3 diff sizes icon_redface.gif

I'll make sure to bring my books cake when I make it.

Sweetlybaked, your cake came out awesome I love it!!! how did you come up with such deep blue? I'm color blind, but that looks navy blue to me....is it?

It is navy. I used Americolor navy blue, but it wasn't quite deep enough for me so I added a drop of black also. Thank you!
