Thank you for posting this, I have been searching the internet book instructions for weeks with no luck. Thank You So Much!!!
No problem! I'm so glad the research helped people! I don't know why, but I quit getting email updates when people would post to this.
Thank you, it helped me tremendously when my son wanted me to make him Harry Potter's Book of Spells.
FullHouse - Did you find any errors within the directions so I can go back and update or was everything pretty spot on?
The directions worked perfectly, especially how to do the false back cover, that had me stumped for some reason. I used the method of cutting 3 strips w/a pizza cutter (2 shorter, 1 long), so simple, can't belive I couldn't figure it out before. I also added bronze luster dust to the white pages to make them look a bit worn. I wish the top of my book looked a bit stiffer on the edges, but other than that I was happy with it and my son LOVED it.

Your cake looks great! What did U make the glasses out of? They look really good.
TY!!! Well, I hate to say, I cheated with the glasses. I was 9 months pregnant and so tired of standing/kneading colors that I scrapped my original plan to make them out of gumpaste and just sanitized the glasses from my DS's old Halloween costume.
Boy am I glad I found this thread!! I cannot figure out how to do a book cake to have it actually look like a book. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for posting this! I am going to do my first book cake for a church cake auction. Now I know what I'm doing!
Wow, thank you for helping us out like that!I have wanted to attempt one for a long while now. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks so much cserwa! I am wanting to do a cake book in the near future and this will be tons of help!
Thanks so much for the instructions, cserwa. I've been wanting to know how to do these for a long time and now I'll dare to try!
This is great! Just what I was looking for. I hope it's as easy as it sounds - I'm kind of nervous!
This is so funny because I was on here an hour ago looking for how to do a stacked book cake for a grooms cake I have to do tomorrow! Thank you so much for all your help and taking the time to type out the directions for us!
I have a question...did you use a stencil for the lettering Holy Bible on the cover? I tried using a stencil to write letters using dusts with alchol but it leaked and smudged. What did I do wrong?
Well thank you so much for your help Cserva! I made my first book cake today)pics in my pictures). Went fairly well for my first one. I did a Harry Potter theme for a Grooms cake for tomorrow night. I have other elements that will go with it (I will post the pictures of the rest of it tomorrow). Its everthing that the Groom loves all rolled into one cake.
Sherylshirley, stenciling is something that takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. And probably some practice before putting it on an actual cake. I'm a total novice at it, but quite interested in getting good. I've seen it done by people who are really good at it and even they have their off moments. But please don't despair. I'm sure about the practice and patience thing. I'm also sure there are a few tricks to this that we haven't had a chance to pick up yet! Let's hope we find them soon!
To all who have posted here in general, thanks for all your contributions: this has been a very informative thread!
