Baking By Marmette Updated 1 May 2009 , 1:42am by snarkybaker
Im going to be making 450 cupcakes (regular size) for a wedding in a few weeks. And the couple want them individually boxed as favors and i have no idea were to get those clear boxes. And i also dont know what size box will fit the cupcakes nicely so i really need help. Can you guys please help me out.
I leave in a few days to go to the wedding location (its a destination wedding) so i dont have much time to prepare. They gave me rather short notice of this.
Thanks for the help.
here's a couple places i found that have individual cupcake boxes. the clear plastic one seems most like what you might be looking for. hope this helps!

clear boxes with gold bottoms http://www.theboxdepot.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?search=action&keywords=acetategb&template=Templates/acetategb.html
I got some from here: http://www.clearbags.com/boxes/cube-boxes
I got the 4x4x4 & 4x4x3...i think, i have to check. The smaller box was a perfect fit if you want to use just the cupcake(reg.size), the larger box can fit a cupcake and any extras you want to add.
Okay, disregard what i just said!!!! lol
I just found my order form and this is what i got: 3x3x4 pop & lock bottom and 4x4x4 fold boxes......WHEW!!!
So, did you decide if you will use them or not? If not, you can always attach a ribbon to the cupcakes. Then again...thats alot of ribbon...
i think im going to use it. i found some on ebay for really cheap so im going to go with that. and i have to use ribbon to tie them up. oh boy its going to be a lot of work
that cupcake swirl site has some really cute liners and covers!!! Thanks for that link

I hope you dont mind me asking but how much is 'cheap'? I've been looking as well and the cheapest I have found is about a $1 each + ship.
Good luck w/ the wedding! It sound like alot of work but FUN!
I used to have a cookie business, and I found that the packaging took forever, and wasn't cheap.
To answer shell62995 i found them on ebay for about $20 for 50 of them (3x3x3) making it about 0.40 cents for one. but i ended up not going with ebay because i found it even cheaper still at this website

For those boxed cupcakes that are in style now, how do you "secure" your cupcake to the bottom so that it does not tip over in the box? I thought about dabbing a bit of icing on the bottom but then you got icing allover the place????
Thanks,
Naty
hmm im not sure i usually use fondant so it doesnt matter if it moves around but if anyone has any ideas that would be great to know.
When we do cupcake favors, we do a 4x4x4 clear box, put one of theos sticky " glue dots" on the bottom, put the cupcake in cold, and tie a ribbon around the top.
