Courtney was viewed as bumping the cake. She says she did not. It was Buddy's cake. The whole thing was done with drama on full blast. It was a little bump but she did not say anything to anyone. A faux pas? Yes but not the big drama it was made out to be, IMHO.

I have been excited watching each show. I am looking forward to tomorrow night. I really like boween but at this point they all have worked so hard I can see either of the 3 winning.

It was Jorg Jurgensen's cake that Courtney allegedly bumped (I think that's how you spell his name).

It was Jorg Amsler's cake in the Miley Cyrys challenge that Courtney bumped while maneuvering her cake around the frig during the competition. Kind of poor sportsmanship to not even tell anyone that you ruined someone elses cake!

Jorg AMSLER! LOL, where did I get Jorgensen?

We've been over this quite a bit ~ she didn't even know she did it. She posted here about the incident. And any professional can fix a notch of missing buttercream. icon_rolleyes.gif Drop it on the floor? Yes, ruined. Scrape off some BC? Hardly.

Regardless of whether or not Courtney ruined the buttercream on Jorg's cake, she did know that prior to her moving the cakes there was not buttercream on the side of the fridge. Once she saw this, any professional would have at that point alerted the judges and/or the other challengers but instead, she proceeded to go about her business.

Scraped buttercream, cake on floor--whatever--one of the competitors commented in another thread that she wasn't even in the running for 2nd place anyways. We shall see who the real professional is tomorrow night--stay tuned!

They are all professionals, regardless of who wins. icon_smile.gif

I was not aware that Courtney saw the BC on the side of the fridge, immediately identified it as being her fault, and made a conscious choice to not alert Jorg or the judges. Thank you for clarifying that.

Sherri I agree 100%! They have all shown this not only in this challenge but in numerous others. Even if we haven't always agreed with all their decisions. They are amazing artist.

P.S. sherri I lovvvve your avatar pic, it is so pretty! icon_razz.gif

You know, even if she was not aware of her being the responsible of damaging the cake, like she said. If she saw the damage cake the correct thing was to say it to Jorg. Just be sincere and a good sport, that small thing will have salvage her lots of comments and bad reputation. Of course all of this tanking in consideration the editing and all. Only the ones who were there know exacly what happened.

I wish someone present on that episode will tell us first hand how was it!!!! Anyone???

Wow - thanks for the answer - didn't mean to draw up bad blood - just didn't know what people were referring to. Anyway - I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode - in spite of the editing for drama.

I was really disappointed in the final show. I mean they were all so tired and exhausted none of them were able to do the best. I thought it was a real bummer.

The cakes were all great but could have been better had they had some sleep. No one would ever realistically take on that whole week. That is why you book appointments and have a "too full - no more bookings" point. I was really disappointed they ran them all so ragged that they were ALL so emotional and drained.

I cannot even imagine what going thru that week was like.. it was admittedly the most demanding week each had ever had.. my hats off to them.. they are all winners..

Honestly Courtney had the cleanest and best cake, just because she used something from other cakes should not take away from her cake. It was cleaner than Marys for sure. As I said, they were all so exhausted they could not give their best work....I don't know what the point of exhaustion proves to anyone. I was very disappointed in the show.

I felt like I never got a really good look at any of the cakes -- they should have panned down slowly so that we could take in all of the details. After all, the 3 artists put a lot of thought and work into each aspect of the cakes.

If FN spent less time recapping what already happened and showing snippets of what will be coming up after the breaks, there would be more time to show the actual creations.

Anyway, I think all of the women did fabulous jobs!!!!

I agree, Courtney did have the cleanest cake, and I was sure she was going to win. I just think in retrospect that the judges were more wowed by Mary's carving techniques on her car and that is what won it for her even though as you moved up her cake there were problems with some of the different tiers. It was really hard to watch how tired they were. On so many shows these kind of things are just made up and not real, but I have no doubt that all these decorators were as exhausted as they appeared to be.

I wanted Bronwen to win, but after she could not get her cake together, I knew she did not have a chance.

I thought it might be a sad episode. Image
I won't bother watching it, I've been so disillusioned about the Food Network lately.
I guess they don't really care if we watch or not, not the demographic they're interested in.

Yes I agree they could show the cakes longer. What I was able to see I thoiught Courtney was the clear winner. I was rooting for Bronwen , but her and Mary absolutely did not have the best they can do out there....time issues and sleep deprevation (they did'nt have CIA people there did they?) lol sorry........but I thought torture was out...hmmmm I guess thats just where terrorists are concerned...oops sorry again.......yes I give them all credit for hanging in there and finishing. I wish they would just let them create the best cake they can and have a freakin week to do it LOL...............

I have to agree, I lthink Courtney should have won. They all did a great job though. I think Courtney would have one if she didn't do the same geometric lines as she did on the other cake. Job well done, they are all very talented for sure!

I thought they add did great but I was definitely routing for Courtney. I thought hers was the best of all of them. Not just this cake but all of them. If you figure she won the wedding cake part, her and Mary won the extreme part and then she was definitely 1st in my eyes on this one. So why didn't she win the overall?????

IMO..Bronwen cake was not that difficult. The shapes of the cakes and the cut-outs could have been much better. Too simplistic for $50,000 and the best cake artist in america. I figured Courtney might win..but I think Mary's car was outstanding. They deserved to win. Hands down!

It was very exciting to watch. Maybe next time..they will have some really superstar bakers like Mike, Collette, Marina Sousa, and of course Mary Maher.

Hats off to all three girls...fabulous efforts and such fortitude!!

I think the contest ended right where it should have. Bronwen's design wasn't "interesting enough" decorating wise, but I think the teens enjoyed finding their side of the cake.

Courtney's cake and Mary's cake were both out of sight! I think Courtney's cake was cleaner, but less decorative. Mary's cake included some AWESOME sculptures and much more details. She earned the title.

But CONGRATULATIONS to ALL!!!

The FNW still needs to not beat up their people....show their best at their best!

I think also it should not have hinged on just one cake........they should have been earning points from the beginning and do it that way. I don't want drama I want cake....I also would like to see more of them actually working on the cake. They are all great, but Courtney made the best cake tonight hands down....Mary made a cool car only and then got sloppy because she was exhausted......I was disappointed in the show...I don't like to see them killing themselves to entertain the public....I want to see them do the best they can without all the BS......

I loved Courtney's Cake! I certainly thought she did the best job but I did LOVE Mary's car so I do understand her winning, I jut thought Courtney's design was better all around. Great Job to them all!!! I am a HUGE Bronwen fan and am glad she made it as far as she did! I thought for sure they were gonna vote her off in week one when they had a chance to get rid of one person. It's what I would have done simply because she is so freakin talented icon_smile.gif They all did an awesome job!

I agree with JGMB above, they didn't give us a good look at any of them. Bronwen's more than the others, I guess, because they were showing the structure because that's what was giving her problems. When Mary won, I thought, "I don't even know what her cake looks like!" We only got glimpses.
