I delivered a 50 serving groom's cake earlier, and then for another wedding another groom's cake for 50 + a wedding cake for 250. That was a lotta cake!

Right now I'm working on 65 dozen chocolate covered Oreos.

Count me in. I've just finished a dirt track cake and am beginning a baby blocks cake for a baby shower. I'm fighting temptation to scrap it until the morning...trying to press on...

Those baby blocks can be a pain depending on how you're doing them. Well, maybe only for me. I hate square cakes.

You're exactly right. The bottom borders seem to be the trickiest part. Lucky for me, two are cake and the top one is fake, so no support needed.

Molding jewels for a Pink Poodles in Paris cake for a 1st bday. Baby went down to sleep, so I have the next few hours to decorate at my leisure. Using a plunger to make a fine rope the braid for the poodles leash which will wrap around the cake, covered in whimsy roses, and drape over the top of the Eiffel Tower...client provided those figurines you've all seen from those birthday kits. So cute! The Eiffel tower is anyways, the poodle...not so much. Oh well....it's work!

I'm procrastinating. Was way tired, thought I had the fridge stocked. Took a nap and now I'm ready to do two cakes. Find I have practically nothing I need.

Off to the store...

Probably going to end up a late-nighter. Not an all nighter, I hope!

I have 2 weddings for tomorrow, one simple3-tiered square buttercream with ribbon, the other a 3 tiered square with tapered sides. Never done tapered sides, was a pain with buttercream!!

I would have to love CC just for the fact that there are so many up on a Friday night working on cakes. Myself, I'm currently working on my own bday cake for tomorrow haha. I'm excited because its going really well and I'm still very much an amateur.

Yeah, Cheyanne25, you'll find that quite a few CCers make their own bday cake. Me, I always like to check out the competition.

hey y'all!
i'm pulling a late nighter for my younger daughter's 2nd bday party tomorrow (bday is sunday)
i've decided to make a monkey cake (she loves monkeys & has a monkey shirt that we have to pry off of her with bribes to wash) after I showed her a monkey & elmo side by side & she said 'i 'unt ooh ooh ahh ahh' icon_surprised.gif)

i hopped on to look back through my saved pics b/c i can't decide between the big teddy pan turned into a monkey.. or the little teddy pan as a monkey on a square cake (i got my 1st magic line today & am itching to try it out!!)

(though after reading that leahs doesn't like doing square cakes *as awesome as you are*, i'm a lil scared! ;o)

For some reason lots of sheet cakes for tomorrow. 2 with edible images, a 50th birthday, 2 baby showers, a beer can, a man's private part and a princess castle.

But remember, Indydebi LOVES square cakes. Nearly every cake she does is square. It's just me.

I have food markers...from Kopycake....black, blue and yellow. I need more! Exactly what I will use for the banner tonight. Black, then paint over with black color.

Leahs ~ Nope, not just you, square cakes are the bane of my existence. Lol. I just finished a birthday cake, turning in for the night but wanted to see what's up on CC. I saw your other thread over in the Business section, just came here to cheer you on! GO GO GO!!! icon_biggrin.gif

For my Bday cake, I make a funfetti cake from a box and slap on some canned rainbow chip frosting. Blasphemy. But oh-so good...

Good luck to everyone tonight!

Hello, first time on Friday night cake club thing. Im not really working on anything right now, but finished my first piping cake earlier today. LOL, still working on it, i guess it looks ok. I did it all free hand, so any suggestions would be great on how to get a more "finished" line and swirl, it ended up looking a little bit like Menhdi, i would like the more swirly look. I feelf or ya on the 65 dozen, wish i could help out, but reading about you from earlier, i think you have all the skills you need, and will finish with plenty of time and they will be lovely. Gl to all this week.

I just finished prom cookies I am very nervous about, not sure if they will like them.

Leahs I know you can do it I had to do 1000 peti fours with no prior experience with monograms on each (staff was busy with food so I was on my own) I did them in 3 very longs days and nights I know you can do it you are much more experienced

Tirechic...practice parctice practice!! I couldn't pipe a nice curve to save my life 2 weeks ago, I swear!! I had to learn to steady my hands, and adjust pressure at just the right time, especially in swoops that are fatter, and let off at the ends when they taper off. Sometimes what helps, is to usea small tip when doing the fine little swishes that come off of the main scroll......but I really like your cake! It looks old world charmy in a GOOD WAY! Trust me, you wanna get it perfect bad enough, you will eventually be the master at it!!

Ok, almost finished with the baby blocks. Need your opinion on something. Where should I put the baby? I just got new molds and am adding it as a bonus because I wanted to try it out. Maybe it looks odd on there at all. What do you think

I'm going to make a fondant blanket to cover him.
