As I am typing this, my nephew-in-law is flying from St. Louis to Maryland pick up
my nieces birthday cake. Her party is this Saturday and I am finally going to see and taste. I'll let you all know how it is.

Cool! You definitely have to post pictures! That's exciting!! What kind of cake is it?
Guess what, your niece's cake might make it on the show! That would be pretty neat!

I'm so anxious to hear!! I've heard mixed reviews saying it was dry, but not sure if they tasted it or heard it from a friend's friend's friend's friend!

I've actually had Duff's cake (the sheet cake served to the public, anyhow!) at local museum's anniversary celebration. (It was a green dinosaur cake for show) It was ok - still a little frozen when they served it, so I don't know if it would have been better at room temp. I would think a special cake would be better! Enjoy!!! icon_smile.gif

I thought Duff had a policy that his cakes were never frozen??? I'm surprised that your cake was a little frozen still djs328!

I'm gonna wait for a review and a pic too! Please share!!!

Awesome, I can't wait to hear how it is.

I have heard on the wilton forums that it was dry and not very good.. curious to see what it looks like and how it tastes....

djs328 are you sure it was frozen? Duff says on quite a few of their shows that they are always fresh, never frozen, it even says so on their website????

Speaking of AOC, They filmed this seasons final episode here in Hawaii. They even came to the Army base where we live and made a cake replica of a Blackhawk! Also, i don't know if the article said it, but the episode airs this Sunday(19 Apr.)

Which probably, in all actuality refers to when you order a cake, they aren't going to a huge freezer where they keep them on standby, pick one out and decorate it. Now, once it is assembled, it may require some chilling to keep the fillings fresh, or get the BC stiff for piping work, or whatever. I think there is a difference. Mine are "fresh never frozen" either. That doesn't mean I don't dang near freeze them to carve or get my icing rock hard for certain detail work, on some cakes, not most of them though!
