Hi -

Can anyone refer me to a place with an electric guitar cookie cutter that doesn't cost more than $5? I have found the one at fancyflour, but it's huge (6") and $15+.

Thanks so much - if anyone could find one it'd be all of you here!

Christy

Here's one for $10 -- but it's large too. I see they also have other instrument cookie cutters.

Hi Christy - If you can't find one, have you thought about making a template? I had to do that for my electric guitar cookies and it worked out well (unless you need to do a very large amount as it can get tedious). If you need the info, here is how I did it. Create your artwork and trace your image onto template plastic, which you can find in the quilting section at Joannes (use the lighter weight of the two you will see) Cut it out and place it on top of your rolled out dough. The big trick is to make sure that your dough is well chilled. Use a fine, sharp thin knife with as small a blade as possible ( I prefer use a fine tip Exact-)) and to cut around the template. Once they are cut out, pop them back into the fridge so they will be well chilled before baking to help keep their shape. Wash off your template and store until the next time you need it!

Also, I don't know if this might help, but mine were large (about 8 3/4") and, as I was concerned about breakage with the neck of the guitar, I cut cakeboard to the size of the cello bag to back the cookie. I put a piece of parchment paper between the cookie and the cakeboard to prevent the butter from staining the cakeboard.

Hopefully icon_smile.gif you will find a cutter, but if not, perhaps this might be an option if not.

Thank you both for your help!

The cutter looks great - but huge! I'll keep it in mind if I can't find something else!

Tracy - I have to make 80 and that's more than I can handle hand cutting! I have had some success with hand cutting in the past, but that was for 10 or less!!!

The tip on the breakage is so appreciated! I never would have thought of that until too late! Thank yoU!
