Sorry I took a pizza break, so I didn't see your question. Yes, it looks like the moderators deleted that other thread. So now this is the one we all have to cling to! icon_biggrin.gif

Hopefully the OP will get on here sometime soon! I'm dying to know what happened at that infamous wedding with all the Wally World cake.

Loved that video. I've been gone all day at an egg hunt so missed a lot of the conversation. I was tempting to come and visit one of your shops today. What would you feel if one of us showed up to your shop to chat?

I finally made it to page 41 and all I can say is OMG!!! The blatant intent to cheat is just appalling.

SugarFrosted : that youtube video is hilarious. Laughed myself silly.

Playingwithsugar ; if bride had ordered cake from you it would have been well within her budget. Your location in your profile says : 6 tiers, serves 300, rolled fondant, only $100. LOL!!!

Ok, I got up to the part where the MOB had told the bride to cancel the check and she expected the cake anyway. Venue was going to use a dummy cake, etc. Then the computer froze and I couldnt go into the other pages. Can anyone give me the run down?
If I was her I would of went down to the venue, into the wedding. Got up on stage with a microphone and clinking wine glass (ofcourse people would think it was going to be a toast) and then proceed to tell her family and friends, all 350 of them how she planned on having a six tiered wedding cake and how she went decided the day of the wedding that it was too much money and decided to cancel the check. And then how the MOB expected you to deliver a cake anyways. And then how her little princess and MOB will be spending the money that they were suppose to pay on the cake, in court on lawyers and trying to keep themselves out of jail!!! I guess thats a hollywood ending, but i like it! I swear, people never stop amazing me how low a person will go. And Im sure they will tell every single person in that venue that its your fault, not theirs. But I do hope that she seriously considers taking her to court. Not just for the money and time you spent on it. But for the basic principal and for your reputation. You deserve more and people like this need to be taught a lesson that they cant do this to people and get away with it. I've seen many things in my life. My parents owned a small market and it really discusted me of how people thought they could do things and get away with it. And usually they did. Most people didnt get justice. Its usually the little guy that gets stepped on all the time and its not right. So I hope you prove to us little guys that there is justice in the world!!! (ok, getting off my soapbox....did anyone else hear the song Pomp & Circumstance playing as I said all that??(the graduation song...)_lol

Thank you for the update. I bet the MOG was horrified that she had to deal with these people for the rest of their lives!! And really, it was very sweet of her to offer to pay.
But Im glad their going to get whats coming to them. Too bad the groom didnt see what kind of person he was marrying before hand. Poor guy!
And kudos for being professional through the whole thing. I dont think after all that, I would of been able to contain my anger !! Atleast you know that the MOG will set things straight with the guests so your reputation wont be ruined over it! And also, Im glad the venue reconsidered using the dummy. I wouldnt of wanted my name out there while they were eating stuff that I didnt create!
And thank you for sharing. It does teach us all to be careful. You just never know what someone will pull!

I'm laying down $50 that the groom is a total doormat and never says a word to his new wifey because he's ball-less and is probably scared to death of his new tacky, cheap, let's-get-something-for-nothing, profanity-spewing mother-in-law. You know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree so his new bride is probably just as hateful, demanding and overbearing. I just betcha!!! ouch.gif

I have followed all 41 pages starting with it late yesterday. I don't think I can really add much of anything that has not already been said -- and I do hope the OP will fill us in on some post wedding details on this later. Closure.....I need closure! LOL!

The cake was absolutely stunning. Bridezilla and MOB missed out on a very important part of any wedding, but can only blame themselves.

I've gotta agree that I don't feel too sorry for the groom in this case either. Chances are he was well aware of the lil missus attitudes and behaviors before he walked down the aisle.

I read this yesterday morning when it was only 3 pages. Had a rare day off and we had tornados in the area about 30 miles from me so was not on the computer the rest of the day. Didn't get any cakes or candy done either. Came back on last night to find so many pages. Checked again today and more pages. Just caught up earlier. Decided I needed to do some more candy between Easter shopping and cooking supper. Sneaked on to read more to try to catch up. This has been a very eye opening thread to read. Totally hard to stop reading. Now finishing up some filled candy eggs and just forget about doing a cake. Just for family anyway. The grandkids will get filled candy eggs instead and plush bunnies in their baskets. I will make a pie instead tomorrow. LOL. Too much fun reading this. Having a little drink and reading away between waiting for candy to set up. Helped grandson decorate eggs too. I can't believe the nerve of some people. Makes you want to just slap some sense into bride and MOB and even groom. If he knows how she is, he needs to be slapped too.

Nope, no life here!
Got the cheesecake baked in the wee hours of the morning. Dropped all my grand plans of decorating it, poured some choc ganache and called it a day. I figure I'm entitled since it was for me icon_biggrin.gif

Off to bday dinner in a while, hope I don't miss too much! icon_lol.gif

My Birthday was Wednesday and I had to make one for myself as well. And then my kids decorated it. They're 10 and 5 so use your imagination!

Happy Birthday!

I think the groom must be a real whimp or he is blinded by love. Maybe after today he will realize this is all wrong and ask for an annulment.

I wonder how many of the guest caught wind of this and were disgusted by it all. If I was there I would have taken back the wedding present and told her how stupid she is on the way out the door.

Can't wait to hear what the venue person has to say about it all!!!

So, we still sit here knowing that we are not going to find out anything until maybe Monday. But we still sit. icon_lol.gif The Easter Bunny is coming tonight and I will probably still be reading this when he walks in. He may just be delayed with his other stops because he may start reading this and forget about his job tonight like some of us have done. I will try my best to stop him from reading this and remind him that he has many stops to make before daylight. I will tell him that I will keep him posted as he goes on his hopping way. thumbs_up.gif

Just. Read. 42. Pages. OMG.

Absolutly beautiful cake. I'm a cookier so most cakes amaze me. But really, the cake is stunning. Wierd colors but whatever, lol.

Karma will get these people. I would love to know how but that's not how it works.

Poor, poor MOG and that part of the family. Seeing as she offered to pay for the cake it sounds like they're good people. Too bad they're getting a bad seed added to their family.

Finally, I'm newer but I love how we all support each other. I've heard of some topics getting heated or misunderstood, but look, something bad happens to one of our own and we're like mama lions ready to pounce.

Happy Easter to all!!

Heidi.

I have a kink in my neck after reading all these posts in one sitting!!

Just think... if the OP hadn't gotten the phone call, she'd have delivered the cake like normal. Next week she'd have gotten her notice in the mail about the cancelled check. She'd then call the bride to find out what was going on... You KNOW the bride and MOB weren't going to say "we thought the cake was too expensive, so we decided not to pay for it." More than likely they were planning to say something along the lines of, "The cake was crooked and dry and it was hardly edible!! It was the wrong shade of lavendar and it just ruined my day!! We want our $550 down payment back or we're going to sue you!" Unfortunately for them, not getting the cake kinda nipped that plan in the bud!
